About the game of Craps;

If you find yourself drawn to a table that is noisy where a lot of emotional jubilance is taking place, hoots, yells and laughter along with sighs and ahhhhs and occasional "oh crap"! This is in all the best gambling probabilities the Casinos Craps table.

Craps is a game where each large craps table can accommodate up to 24 bettors or players at a time.

The Craps staff or crew that man the tables are of a larger number than at other gaming tables, so you will not find this game in every casino.

The staff or crew compliment consists of;

"The Boxman" who is in charge, he watches the table and the other staff members manning the table. He resolves disputes and when the dice fly off the table (which they happen to do quite often), makes sure the same dice are being returned to the table. (all the craps dice are individually numbered).

"The Stickman", this person pushes the dice around the table and he stands opposite the Boxman. The Stickman never touches the dice put sends them to "The Shooter" or player for the next roll of the dice and calls out the results.

"The Dealers", there are two other staff members who stand on either side of "The Stickman" they are called  and they change money for chips and place players bets on the table as well as pay winners their winnings.

Craps Equipment;

The Craps Dice; are not like normal dice which have rounded corners. The Craps Dice are transparent and completely square and individually numbered, (with a serial number). The transparency of the dice prevents weighting of them and the squareness assists in the unpredictability of the result of the throw, the individual serial numbers on the dice prevent switching of the dice at any stage of the game.

The Table;  The first thing to notice if you are playing on a huge full size craps table is that each end of the craps table is a mirror of the other side, so you have two tables joined in the middle kind of effect. Printed on the baize (surface) is a seemingly complex number of betting boxes which include lines, circles and rectangles. The Baize depending on the casino can range from a flaming pink and everything in-between to your more normal greens and blues.

How to Play Craps;

Bank craps is a game played by multiple players betting against a casino. Each casino might set slightly different payouts for the various bets.

Players take turns rolling two dice and whoever is throwing the dice is called the "shooter". Players can bet on the various options by placing chips in the appropriate sections of the board. It may be required to ask the dealer to place certain bets.

While acting as the shooter, a player must have a bet on the "Pass" line or the "Don't Pass" line. Pass and don’t pass are sometimes called "Win" and "Don’t Win" or "Right" and "Wrong" bets. The game is played in rounds and these "Pass" and "Don't Pass" bets are betting on the outcome of a round. The shooter is often replaced at the end of the round or when he loses a round with a seven.

The dice are moved clockwise around the table for the next player to become shooter. The shooter is presented with multiple dice (typically five) by the "stickman", and must choose two for the round. The remaining dice are returned to the stickman's bowl and are not used.

Each round has two phases: "come-out" and "point". To start a round, the shooter makes one or more "come-out" rolls. A come-out roll of 2, 3 or 12 is called "craps" or "crapping out", and anyone betting the Pass line loses.  A come-out roll of 7 or 11 is a "natural", and the Pass line wins. The other possible numbers are the point numbers: 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10. If the shooter rolls one of these numbers on the come-out roll, this establishes the "point" - to "pass" or "win", the point number must be rolled again before a seven.

The dealer flips a button to the "On" side and moves it to the point number signifying the second phase of the round. If the shooter "hits" the point value again (any value of the dice that sum to the point will do; the shooter doesn't have to exactly repeat the value combination of the come-out roll) before rolling a seven, the Pass line wins and a new round starts, usually with the dice staying with the current shooter.

If the shooter rolls any seven before repeating the point number (a "seven-out"), the Pass line loses and the dice pass to a new shooter for the next round. In all the above scenarios, whenever the Pass line wins, the Don't Pass line loses, and vice versa, with one exception: on the come-out roll, a roll of 12 will cause Pass Line bets to lose, but Don't Pass bets are pushed (or "barred"), neither winning nor losing.

Tips for playing Craps;

Progressive Betting; A great tip for playing online Craps is called 'progressive betting.' Put in the most basic of terms, it means that you should never walk away when you are winning and that you should never stay at the table when you are losing. The progressive betting strategy is simple. Let's say you've placed a Craps bet. Each dice roll you happen to win will increase your current bet by the initial one. In reverse, each roll of the dice you happen to lose, will decrease the current amount by the initial one. Quite simply then, when on a winning streak keep playing and when you find the tables turn and you start losing stop playing!

Place a Pass Line Bet; Another top tip if you happen to be a Craps beginner in search of an online Craps strategy, yup, this tip stands true for even for a seasoned player. Start by placing a Pass Line bet. It does not matter whether the shooter rolls Craps or passes, just place this same bet over and over again. The idea is to wait until the shooting player establishes a point, at which time, it is best to then place a single odds bet next to your initial Pass Line bet. This will help you reduce the casinos (or house) edge to less than 1%.

History of Dice Games/Craps;

Dice games are the earliest of any recorded games in casino and gambling history. The first dice were made from the knucklebones of sheep. Ancient Romans enjoyed playing games of dice and these games eventually spread across the continent of  Europe. The aristocracy in Europe played the game called hazard in the early 18 and 19th centuries and this games name evolved to craps when the French mistakenly mistook the word crabs (this is the term used for the lowest score of a pair of one's) for craps. Eventually spreading to America with the emigration of European settlers, the game was simplified, and became the very popular classic casino game that it is played and enjoyed throughout the USA and the rest of the world today.
